TAIPEI - Taiwan's foreign exchange reserves hit a record high of 341.22 billion US dollars at the end of October, the central bank said Friday.

The figure is 8.98 billion dollars up from the end of September, the bank said in a statement on its website.

The increase came after the British pound and the euro appreciated against the greenback, while the central bank's investment return was also cited as a reason.
