HONG KONG - Hong Kong's financial markets will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, on the anniversary of the territory's handover to China from Britain.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index finished 0.8 per cent or 149.78 points lower at 18,378.73 on Tuesday. It soared 35.4 per cent in the second quarter to mark its biggest quarterly gain in 15 years.
The China Enterprises Index, which represents top locally listed mainland Chinese stocks, shed 0.2 per cent on Tuesday to close at 10,962.61.
