Firms unable to go paperless with monthly statements

Companies should provide the option for customers who wish to go electronic for their bills and statements.

Companies should provide the option for customers who wish to go electronic for their bills and statements.

SINGAPORE should encourage companies to go green and go paperless as much as possible. Recently I called a few companies including OCBC Bank, DBS Bank and StarHub, asking them to stop sending hard copies of statements to me. The general reply was that it cannot be done 'as it is auto generated'.

All I want is a password to access my credit card statement or bill online. Why must companies insist on printing hard copies, wasting paper and postage just to send the statements to my home?

In our progressive nation, companies should provide the option for customers who wish to go electronic.
