Singaporeans will be receiving a 50% increase in the second installment of Growth Dividends (GD) on October 1, 2008, as announced by the Prime Minister in his National Day Rally speech.

According to a press statement from the Ministry of Finance, the CPF Board will send a letter from September 17 to inform citizens of their enhanced GD allotment. This can also be checked online at www.growthdividends.gov.sg.

Singaporeans who have received their GST Credits/Senior Citizens' Bonus and their first installment of GD will automatically receive their second enhanced installment of GD. No separate sign up is required.

Eligible Singaporeans who have not signed up for their GST Credits/Growth Dividends should do so at www.gstoffset.gov.sg or www.growthdividends.gov.sg. They can log on using their Singpass or the one-time PIN included in the notification letter from CPF Board.

Hardcopy forms will also be available at the CPF Service Centre, Community Centres/Clubs and Community Development Councils. The deadline for signing up is on December 31, 2008.

Those who wish to donate their enhanced GD to charity must indicate their preference online via the two websites above even if they had previously indicated their wish to donate their second GD installment.

For further information on the GD and the GST Credits/Senior Citizens' Bonus, visit www.gstoffset.gov.sg or www.growthdividends.gov.sg or call 1800-2222-888.

Besides the enhanced GD, households will be receiving a 50% increase in the amount of Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebates for Fiscal Year 2008 (April 2008 - Mar 2009) to be given out in November this year.

In addition, Singaporeans also stand to receive benefits including GST Credits and Senior Citizens' Bonus, top-ups to the Post Secondary Education Accounts, Workfare Income Supplements, Income Tax rebates, Medisave Top-Ups, Service and Conservancy Charges rebates and Property Tax rebates this year.

Everyone can easily calculate how much benefits their household will get in total this year. They can make use of the household benefits table that will be enclosed with the notification letter from CPF Board, or the online Household Benefits Calculator (available at www.mof.gov.sg/benefitscalculator) to compute the total amount of benefits.
