Financial 'spam': Stamp it out

Is there a policy to restrain these 'professional callers' from calling us?

MY FRIENDS and I are constantly disturbed by numerous groups of 'professional callers' hired by financial institutions to enrol customers.

I would like to ask the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) if there is any policy to restrain these people from calling us.

I understand in the United States there is an 'exclusion list', to which you just submit your name and phone number. The list is then sent to all financial institutions which are not allowed to call anyone on the list. The list is valid for one year.

I hope the MAS can do something similar to reduce the disturbance and my phone bills.
