KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist was injured after a car knocked him down while trying to overtake his motorcycle on the road.
City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said that the motorcyclist was injured following the collision Sunday morning.
“Early investigations showed that the driver had tried to overtake the victim along Jalan Pahang. However the car was too near, which led to the collision.
“The victim sustained injuries at the knee, hand and leg areas. A report was made by the victim after he was treated at the hospital. The police has also recorded statements from the car driver as well,” he said when contacted on Sunday.
The case is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987, for careless and inconsiderate driving.
A video of the incident, which was verified by ACP Zulkefly, had also been uploaded on social media.
The short video showed the collision as the car, which was at speed, was moving between the lanes.
