PETALING JAYA - Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has called on the public to remain rational and not be influenced by propaganda from "certain quarters".
He lamented that DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang had linked him to several high-profile murders, including that of DPP Anthony Kevin Morais, former Ambank chairman Hussain Najadi and DAP political aide Teoh Beng Hock.
"Three years ago, Kevin Morais' brother, Charles Morais had a press conference, which stated that he had a statutory declaration and placed it in a thumbdrive, which was received by Kevin, and had contained evidence to the 1MDB/SRC cases as well as evidence of why Kevin was killed.
"However, where is the thumb drive now? After three years, it still has not been found," he said.
Najib was also perplexed that Lim had linked him to Teoh's death.
"Until today, I do not see any benefit for the (then) Barisan Nasional government or me, if a DAP leader - who might have any evidence to prove corruption - was killed," he said.
"I am writing all this in hope that Malaysians will think more in depth and not be easily influenced by propaganda from certain quarters," he added.
Najib also advised Lim not to "kid and twist things around".
Meanwhile, Lim, who is also the Iskandar Puteri MP, chided Najib for talking about "justice".
He said that the Pekan MP should instead prepare himself to volunteer as the first witness of the PAC re-investigation of 1MDB scandal to help shed the Malaysia's infamy and ignominy as a global kleptocracy.
"Let me put it straight to the former prime minister that he should stop strutting around fulminating about 'justice', as he is the last person qualified to talk about 'justice'," he said.
