KUALA LUMPUR - Wanted businessman Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, has fled Macau, said Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
The Inspector-General of Police said Bukit Aman only received an email from Macau authorities on July 9, informing them that Low had left Macau.
"The email did not specify when Low left Macau.
"It is hard to trace him as he is believed to be using multiple passports," he told a press conference after launching the Bukit Aman's Blood Donation Drive on Wednesday (July 11).
He added that the latest development will complicate police investigation into 1Malaysia Development Berhad.
The IGP said Bukit Aman have issued an Interpol Red Notice on Low in June and a team was sent to Hong Kong to track him down.
"By the time the team arrived in Hong Kong, he had already fled to Macau," he said.
