Winner of the Dewi Remaja beauty contest Haneesya Hanee has lost her title after a video emerged online apparently showing her and her fellow finalists partying at a nightclub.

The 19-year-old, whose full name is Sharifah Haneesya Sayed Sahlan, admitted to her misconduct at a press conference in Shah Alam yesterday.

She also appealed to the public to stop blaming her mother, saying it was her own fault, after her title was revoked by the organisers for breaching contest rules.

Earlier yesterday, Sinar Harian reported that Haneesya had asked for time to comment on the issue when the daily contacted her on Wednesday.

The video, which went viral online a day after Haneesya was crowned the winner of the pageant organised by Remaja magazine last Sunday, shows a woman resembling Haneesya and other finalists at a nightclub having alcoholic drinks and dancing to club music.
