25 November 2009, Singapore ---
(HWM) will sport a brand new look when it rolls out its December 2009 edition.
The leading consumer technology magazine will feature a redesigned cover and pages, as well as new editorial content. It boasts bolder styles, eye-catching images and stronger colours, in addition to the cutting edge and in-depth commentary, news and product evaluation readers have come to enjoy.
From the latest gadgets, trends, reviews, features to interviews, HWM will continue to help readers make informed decisions on their tech-buying sprees.
The new sections and additions include the following:
- Gear is now prefaced with a more prominent, hottest "I-want-it-now" gadget selection.
- Trends takes the latest buzz from the Web and the streets, and compile it into "news you can really use" -- in smart commentary form.
- Test is now a huge section of award-winning devices and software that is tested in-house by the HWM team. There are three main sub-sections:
- Multi-test (formerly "Shootout") pits products in the same categories and compares them across different disciplines.
- Mini-test matches a smaller group of products in the same categories. - Lab-test (formerly "Reviewed") reviews a single item from the areas of computers and consumer electronics to the communications field.
Popular regulars like Features, How-to guides and Contests remain. In addition, it will sport a slightly trimmed size that is easy to hold, while still letting readers enjoy the luxurious product spreads and content.
HWM Editor David Chieng says: "We are confident the redesigned version will satisfy our loyal readership base even more and at the same time, attract new and discerning readers.
"We are certain that our reads will continue to stretch boundaries and remain relevant to our consumers."
Eugene Low, Deputy Managing Director, SPH Magazines Pte Ltd, adds: "Loyal HWM readers and advertising partners have been following HWM's growth since it started as a hardcore computer magazine in 2001.
"Today, having evolved into a consumer lifestyle technology magazine, it will fuel readers' passion further with beautiful, glossy photo spreads of products, exemplary design, trusted reviews and how-to guides."
The December issue will be on sale from November 26, 2009.
