Fight burnout with professional counselling

WHAT do you feel like in the morning before you set out on your way to work

Im sure there have been days when youve had to drag yourself to the office or felt like taking medical leave.

What would you want improved at your workplace so that you would feel motivated to go to work every day

Asians are generally known to be hardworking people. Maybe Singaporeans have no choice, due to the pace of life here.

One way of dealing with job burnout is to seek professional counselling.

Counselling can help people clarify their thoughts and feelings so that they can arrive at decisions for themselves, and even make major changes to their lives.

At times, people can be forced to make hasty decisions which they regret later, or act on wrong advice, after which they have to live with the consequences of their actions.

Counselling can offer people the opportunity to explore differnent ways of looking at their lives and moving towards more effective ways of coping with their problems.

It would be good if employers could encourage workers to go for counselling. Bosses could also spend the hour before knock-off time getting opinions from staff about the days work.

Sharing sessions will help ease employees work stress, and could change their view of their management if they know that it cares about them.
