CYLON Interactive will start selling subscription cards for its e-learning website - CylonLive.com - at major retail outlets tomorrow.
According to Ali Y Aladdin, founder and CEO of Cylon Interactive, CylonLive.com is the first e-learning website based in Singapore and hosts more than 40 IT training courses, with courses and lessons regularly updated to include changes in new versions as well as new software available in the market.
The courses available on the website are targeted at both students and professionals looking to improve their IT skills and learn how to use various computer applications such as programming, multimedia and graphic design or generic skills such as use of Microsoft Office or Windows Vista.
Users will have unlimited access to all the courses for a specified duration depending on their subscription plans which are priced at $49.90, $69.69 and $99 for three, six and 12 months, respectively.
Although the website is hosted locally, the courses are presented and demonstrated by instructors from the UK and the programming is done in a neighbouring country.
Mr Ali said that the website took 11 months to be set up. It gives users a cost-effective and flexible way to upgrade their IT knowledge, especially during the current economic downturn, he added.
'CylonLive.com provides a practical and flexible option for both students and working adults who are looking to acquire new skills and knowledge especially in the economic downturn where skills upgrading can help improve employability.'
Companies from Malaysia, Dubai, the UK and Australia have expressed interest in the CylonLive.com model, Mr Ali said. He added that he was looking at the possibility of franchising opportunities with these companies.
