  • Make up for your limited working experience by highlighting your extra-curricular activities, particularly those that showcase leadership and financial skills.
  • Make the best use of your institution's career guidance office. Companies are increasingly utilising hiring approaches that are less costly, including reaching out to students via the universities.
  • Try applying for internships and temporary jobs in your desired industry, as these can translate into permanent positions when the company is ready to hire.
  • Many interviews are secured via networking and staff members often pass the word about suitable job candidates. Learn to network professionally by meeting up with relevant contacts, attending industry events and building up a visible online presence.
  • It is better to be hired in a job that offers indirect experience than not to be hired at all, so consider positions that may not be directly related to your course of study, as long as you can gain relevant skills from them.
