How to cinch that dream job

HERE are some tips on how you can prepare for your job interview.

Before the interview

1) Find out more about your prospective employer by reading up on news about the company, going online to check out its website or checking out the buzz on forums.

2) Prepare and rehearse commonly-asked questions.

3) Get a friend to role-play the interview with you.

4) Dress smart and appropriately for the interview.

During the interview

1) Be on time. If you are not familiar with the interview venue, leave home earlier.

2) Greet the interviewer with a firm handshake. Be aware of your body language: establish eye contact, smile and sit properly.

3) During the interview, sell your skills, talents and best qualities.

4) When the interview ends, shake hands with the interviewer and thank them for their time.

After the interview

If you still haven't heard from the company after a week, you could ring the company to follow-up.

Quick tips:

- Role-play and rehearse with a friend

- A firm handshake denotes confidence

- Always follow up after an interview
