Pharma sector jobs in the pink of health

TUCKED away in the far western shores of Tuas, the thousands of workers in the fast-growing biomedical sciences sector here can be forgiven for feeling that the work they do goes unnoticed by the man in the street.

With the financial crisis, the spotlight has been thrown on this billion-dollar industry - one of the few sectors in which companies are still hiring.

This Saturday, at the BioBiz career fair, graduating students and people from outside the pharmaceutical industry will have a chance to find out about the more than 400 jobs up for grabs this year.

The following profiles of four pharmaceutical employees reveal that they are loving life in the sector for numerous reasons, including new challenges, a chance to improve people's lives, better pay and the feeling of job security.
