Have guidelines on leaders' posts
Fri, Apr 24, 2009
my paper

I REFER to the letter, 'Do leaders hold too many posts?', by Mr Ng Teck Wee (my paper, April 21).

I agree with the writer, especially about leaders in the corporate and social sectors.

Being a leader requires one to undertake various roles and tasks.

He also has to bear the consequences of his actions.

When a leader assumes many positions in different organisations, he may not be able to perform to the best of his ability, no matter how qualified, experienced or good he is.

Perhaps the authorities could look into this matter and provide some guidelines.
