More sectors are on the upswing

SINGAPORE'S economic recovery is becoming increasingly broad-based, as more sectors start to fire on all cylinders - a trend that is set to continue into next year.

But there is one small sputter in the economic engine expected quite soon.

Output in the current fourth quarter may shrink a little from the third quarter, on the back of less aggressive restocking by manufacturers and weaker output from the drugs sector.
