NOW is a good time to invest in Vietnam as the country has regained its pre-recession economic growth and become more integrated in the world and is business-friendly, the visiting Vietnamese President said on Tuesday.

Mr Nguyen Minh Triet said that Vietnam's economy, which took a slight hit from last year's global downturn, has gone from strength to strength in the first three quarters this year, and is expected to expand by a better-than-expected 5.2 per cent for the entire year.

'We should grasp the opportunity of the recovery to promote partnerships between Singapore and Vietnam. You will enjoy great opportunities because of the excellent political relations between our two countries,' he told about 350 business executives from Singapore and Vietnam at a lecture organised by the Singapore Business Federation.
