"The bonds will be issued in the near future, subject to market conditions," Temasek said in a media release.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the size of the bond offer hasn't been set but is likely to be around US$1 billion.

The new securities will be issued under Temasek's US$5 billion guaranteed global medium-term note programme, the statement said. Temasek Financial Ltd will sell the bonds and Temasek Holdings will guarantee them.
