S'pore shares open lower

SINGAPORE shares opened lower on Monday with the benchmark Straits Times Index down 24.29 points, or 0.91 per cent, at 2,634.91.

About 87.9 million shares exchanged hands in the first few minutes of trading.

Gainers beat losers 116 to 48.
