LONDON - British manufactured output rose by 0.2 percent in April from the level in March, official data showed on Wednesday.
Manufacturing output advanced for the second month in a row after a revised monthly gain of 0.2 percent in March, which was the first increase since February 2008.
Output in April was down 12.7 percent on a 12-month basis, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) added in a statement.
The ONS said a wider measure of industrial production, which includes mining, quarrying and energy, increased 0.3 percent in April from March, but was down 12.3 percent year-on-year.
