Seeking Entrepreneur of the Year

Into its 21st year, the award recognises entrepreneurs who identify opportunities and act on them while accepting the risks involved.

EYA was started by the Rotary Club of Singapore in 1989. Asme became co-organiser in 1992.

Apart from the overall winner, entrepreneurs are chosen for their excellence in specific areas, such as innovation and social contribution.

So far the award has paid tribute to more than 100 entrepreneurs including Charles & Keith International managing director Charles Wong and Goodrich Global chairman Chan Chong Beng.

To qualify, candidates must have been in business at least three years. The total fixed production assets of their company must not exceed $30 million. And if the company is in the services industry it must not have more than 400 employees.

Candidates will be evaluated on their ability to create a successful enterprise and to sustain a profitable, socially responsible business.

Entries may be submitted until June 30. For more information, call 6513-0380 or e-mail eya.secretariat@asme.org.sg.
