INDIA'S biggest bank, State Bank of India (SBI), has opened its fourth branch in Singapore. And eight more branches will dot the island over the next three years.

Opening the newest branch in Ang Mo Kio, the bank's chairman O.P. Bhatt said: 'We believe we can contribute to the Singapore market by offering innovative products and world class service levels. We look forward to welcoming Singaporeans into our family of over 146 million customers.'

SBI offers deposit products, such as savings, current, and term deposit accounts, both in Singapore and US dollars. It also offers remittance services to any bank branch in India.

The State Bank Group has a footprint of over 15,700 branches in India and 89 points of presence in 32 countries across the world.

The bank intends to launch mortgage products and partner with insurance companies and mutual funds to complete its suite of retail products. It is also exploring partnerships to offer customers greater convenience for transactions like cash withdrawals and bill payments.

SBI's other branches in Singapore are located at Cecil Street, Little India and Jurong East. It also has three offsite ATMs, located in Serangoon Road, Changi Airport Terminal 1 and Suntec City Mall. -tabla!
