LOCAL CEOs now have a chance to learn from top media gurus in the world in a pilot programme launched by the Media Development Authority.
The year-long initiative sees international experts, in areas such as merchandising and financing, matched to five heads of selected home-grown media companies.
These experts will act as mentors and share their experiences, knowledge and networks with the local CEOs.
Mr Seto Lok Yin, MDA's assistant CEO (industry), said that "the launch of this programme is timely" and would help "accelerate the growth of some of our companies ready to leapfrog into the next phase of their development".
Mr Aldric Chang, managing director of local animation firm Mediafreaks, said: "It helps Mediafreaks open doors to the global market as we strive to develop internationally appealing animation."
The programme benefits the mentors, too.
Said Mr Chang's mentor, Ms Elizabeth Kalodner, who is executive vice-president and general manager of CBS Consumer Products: "I've also learnt about Singapore and South-east Asia from him."
