Do you want to help keep Singapore safe?

The Ministry of Home Affairs is looking to fill about 1000 vacancies in the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the Singapore Prisons Service (SPS) and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

The following positions are available:

  • Police Officer [470]
  • ICA Specialist [300]
  • Prisons Officer [70]
  • Narcotics Officer [10]
  • Fire and Rescue Specialist [20]
  • Senior Home Team Uniformed Officer [100]
  • ICA Senior Officer [30]

The Home Team offers a competitive compensation package. Starting salaries for the respective Home Team careers are tabulated below.

First Class Honours $3106 - $3,889
Second Upper Honours $2900 - $3,635
Other Honours $2750 - $3,390
Pass with Merit $2650 - $3290
Pass $2550 - $3,190

Qualifications Gross Starting Salary
Polytechnic Diploma Holders $1,856 - $2,436
Full GCE 'A' Level $1,746 - $2,322
Partial 'A' Level / ITC / CBS/ Higher Nitec $1,400 - $2,135
5 GCE 'O' Level / Nitec
$1,330 - $1,972

As a member of the Home Team, applicants will have the unique opportunity to play their part in keeping Singapore safe and secure, in dealing with real-life safety and security challenges facing Singapore. The Home Team will provide applicants with the training and development opportunities to help them grow in their careers.

Apart from the MHA, the Ministry of Education (MOE) is also looking for teachers and counsellors, among others, with a target of having 30,000 teachers by 2010, or one thousand teachers more than it currently employs.
