Majority of Malaysian workers regret study and career choice
AN international survey found that two-thirds of workers in Malaysia would have studied something different after leaving school if given the choice while one in eight said that they chose the wrong career, reported Tamil Nesan.
The survey by global recruitment firm Kelly Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd found that many Malaysian workers had concerns over their education at school and post-school.
Many also regretted their career choice.
The survey sought the views of 115,000 people in 33 countries, including more than 2,000 in Malaysia.
Kelly Services vice-president and country general manager Melissa Norman said the findings indicated a high level of concern about career choice and direction.
She said many people in the workforce do not believe that their education had properly prepared them for working life.
