2: Tampines 1 clothes swop
MORE than 200 people turned up last Saturday for SWOP@Tampines 1, a charity event organised by the mall.
More than 3,000 items of clothing were contributed by participants at the event.
A swop meet is an event which allows participants to donate their unwanted clothes, books and other items which are in good condition.
At the same time, participants can pick through other people's items, and donate money to charity.
Over $1,100 was raised for Operation Hope Foundation, a Singapore-based charitable organisation that helps orphans and the poor in Third World countries through relief and development projects.
The meet at Tampines 1 is part of the mall's official-opening celebrations.
