NUS don to review Notes complaints
Thu, Feb 05, 2009
The Straits Times

A FOURTH independent person has been appointed to help deal with investor complaints over failed investment products linked to collapsed United States investment bank Lehman Brothers.

Yesterday, Hong Leong Finance appointed National University of Singapore law professor Hans Tjio to review investor complaints relating to Morgan Stanley's Pinnacle Notes Series9 and 10.

In addition, Mr Hwang Soo Jin, an independent person overseeing the complaints-handling process of brokerages that sold the toxic products, will also review cases in relation to Pinnacle9 and 10, said the Monetary Authority of Singapore. About 700 people here invested $26million in the notes.
