HE was arrested in connection with a case of glued doors at Laguna Park.
It is understood that the man in police custody is none other than the chairman of the private estate's management committee, Mr Lee Kok Leong.
On Monday, the police arrested a 61-year-old in connection with two incidents that day of residents in Block E of the estate finding their front doors glued shut to the frames.
The man, believed to be Mr Lee, had not been released at press time yesterday.
Mr Patrick Rappa, 56, a resident of one of the affected units, said he found glue in the keyhole of his front door when he returned home from work on Monday.
He said: 'Fortunately, we did not lock our main gate or that might have been sealed with glue too and I would have been unable to go out.
'But our next-door neighbour had the keyhole of his gate padlock sealed with glue and his front door was glued to the door frame.'
Two other residents confirmed that Mr Lee was the man arrested.
Chairman favours en bloc
Mrs Tan said she and Mr Lee himself were victims of vandals although they were in favour of the en-bloc sale.
She said: 'His letter box and mine were among those that were sealed with glue.
'He wondered why he was targeted since he was pro enbloc.'
Mrs Tan added that five members of the management committee have since resigned, probably because they found it hard to cope with the pressure of dealing with the en-bloc situation and the vandalism.
She said a meeting may soon have to be held to elect a new committee.
