Eunosville gets 75% votes for privatisation

EUNOSVILLE residents are in the race to be the next HUDC estate to be privatised.

They have "already obtained the 75 per cent mandate for the privatisation of the estate", the Housing and Development Board (HDB) said in a statement to my paper yesterday.

Residents of the 10-block estate had voted last year. my paper understands that their lawyer has proceeded with the legal privatisation which will take about 18 months to process.

This means each household will have to fork out about $25,000 to $30,000 for the application.

Together with Shunfu Ville, located along Marymount Road, these two HUDC estates look set to be the first two HUDCs to be privatised this year. The last HUDC estate to be converted in July 2007 was the 528-unit Laguna Park.

Of the 18 HUDCs in Singapore, 11 are already privatised.
