UOB Structured Deposit: Wealth Deposit - Series 6

What it is: A structured deposit designed to capitalise on the performance of 10 Asian-listed financial companies.

Details: This principal-protected structured deposit offers investors access to 10 Asian-listed financial companies such as DBS Group Holdings, OCBC Bank, Hang Seng Bank, HSBC Holdings and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.

Investors earn a guaranteed interest of 5 per cent per annum at the end of the first three months of the tenor, or 1.25 per cent of the deposit amount.

MQ Asia Outperformance Notes

What it is: New series of notes from Macquarie Capital Securities (Singapore), which allows investors to benefit from the relative performance of a basket of Asian stocks and a United States index.

Investors can receive attractive returns, be it in positive or negative market conditions.

Details: The notes, available in both Singdollar and the US dollar, are linked to a basket of six Asian blue chip property and financial stocks that are listed on either the Singapore or Hong Kong bourses.

The notes are 100 per cent capital guaranteed at maturity in four years, or earlier in the case of early redemption, which occurs if each share outperforms the Standard & Poor's 500 Index by 2 per cent or more on any relevant observation date.

When this happens, investors can enjoy a yield of up to 6 per cent per annum for the Singdollar notes, and 9 per cent per annum for the US dollar notes.

Launched: Last Monday. The offer closes on June 27. Available via Standard Chartered Bank, CIMB, ABN Amro and OCBC Securities.

SGA Series 15 Emerging Asia Retail Notes

What it is: Societe Generale's five- year credit-linked notes to provide investors with exposure to sovereign and quasi-sovereign bond markets in China, India, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand, enabling them to diversify their portfolios through a single investment vehicle.

Details: Investors can receive a potential total return of 16.5 per cent over five years, or 3.3 per cent per annum every six months, assuming no credit event, no early redemption event, and no exercise of the issuer's call option occurs during the term of the notes.

The minimum investment amount is $5,000. The notes are distributed solely by Standard Chartered Bank.

Launched: The offer period closes on June 16. The scheduled maturity date is July 10, 2013.
