Cap prices of resale HDB flats
Fri, Nov 13, 2009
my paper

HOUSING Board flats are built to meet the housing needs of the majority of Singaporeans.

With that in mind, the prices of resale flats should be capped to curb speculation.

Older flats which were built over 25 years ago should not be sold for more than $400,000.

These flats were sold at very low prices by the HDB.

Owners of these flats should not take advantage of the property boom to sell their homes at sky-high prices.

With housing costs escalating, young Singaporeans might feel compelled to seek out opportunities elsewhere instead.
