High-end condo for sale - chef and sommelier included

MORE property developers here are coming up with exciting and innovative concepts to keep buyers interested.

Some have even turned to mirroring overseas trends in the quest to woo more buyers. There are at least 10 such multi-million-dollar properties being developed now - featuring everything from private pools to concierges.

Hayden Properties' Ritz-Carlton Residences on Cairnhill Road will even offer sommelier services. The 58-unit residence is targeted for completion in 2010.

Due for completion in 2011 is The Hamilton Scotts, a 56-unit high-end luxury condominium in Scotts Road, also being developed by Hayden.

The project is the first of its kind in Asia and third in the world to feature en suite "sky garages", which will allow residents to park their cars right in their apartments.

Said Ms Ong Chih Ching, Hayden's founder: "We wanted something flamboyant and high-end... new and creative."

She added that although prices have yet to be fixed, each unit will cost around $3,800psf.

Each typical unit is about 2,700 sq ft. Ms Ong declined to reveal sales figures, but said that the "response has been healthy".

Boulevard Vue, a 28-unit residence at Cuscaden Walk, will offer - aside from the usual amenities - an on-site chef-on-demand service.

The Marq on Paterson Hill boasts 15m lap pools in every apartment in one of its two 24-storey towers. Each unit in that tower averages 6,195 sq ft.

Its first phase, comprising 21 of its 66 units, has been fully sold at an average price of $4,137psf, announced SC Global Developments in June.

But despite the hefty price tags, buyers are responding well.

For potential buyer Mr Lucas van Maarschalkerweerd, 49, the luxuries are just a perk.

"When it comes down to it, I think location is still the most important," said the managing director of a multi-national trading company.

Ms Mindy Yong, sales director for property firm DTZ, thinks there is definitely a market for such properties here.

"Just like any other product, developers need to come out with fresh ideas to attract the buyers as they are spoilt for choice."
